I think Danny Elfman dropped the ball when he did the music for "Batman." He should have adapted the theme from the old Adam West version, using his famous "manic children's chorus" sound for the "na na na na na na na na" part.

Speaking of children, it is suggested in L. Allason-Jones's Women in Roman Britain (London, 1989) that some Roman-period small gold rings decorated with phalli found in London and elsewhere were worn by children of wealthy families for warding off misfortune, the phallus being a potent (ha) protection against the evil eye.

I'm not sure you could give a kid a ring like that nowadays.
