At work anyway
Feb. 18th, 2003 10:22 amIt didn't occur to me that BU might be closed today. It is. But I'm here anyway, so I may as well do some work.

Date: 2003-02-18 07:42 am (UTC)I'm glad, actually; I work only three days a week, and if I'd been home today, that means three days in a row for the rest of the week, which would be mildly annoying.
(Before those of you with full-time jobs say, mockingly, "oh, you poor dear, that would have been awful," remember that I get paid for only three days a week as well...)

Date: 2003-02-18 07:52 am (UTC)there were people here today trying to top each other's stories about getting in here
"I had to dig my way to work ... from Worcester!"
"I skated across the Charles from my Back Bay apartment."
"I had to harness my children to the front of my car and whip them like dogs to get up that hill."
sometimes I miss academia.

Date: 2003-02-18 09:08 am (UTC)When I saw the fire hydrant across the street from us disappear into a snow bank, though, I thought we might have a chance. As it turns out, they had already decided to close as of 11 PM last night. Miraculous, even.
I hope that you're not coffee-less, and that you enjoy the empty campus.
