Aug. 14th, 2003 03:19 pmToday has been no fun.
Reasons include:
- Poor sleep because of heart palpitations.
- A total of two hours of waiting around in a doctor's office.
- Having spots of chest hair shaved with a dry razor.
- Wearing a halter monitor (a portable EKG thing).
- Having hot water squirted in my ear, making me dizzy but not solving the ear problem that led me, in the mistaken impression that I was suffering sinus headaches, to take too much pseudephedrine, leading to heart palpitations. (Alas, the dizziness continues a bit, although it could be a side effect of the anti-palpitation medicine.)
- A tedious work deadline.
- Reading sad things on my friends list and in the news.
And, possibly worst of all:
- Having to go back Monday morning and have more hot water squirted in my ear.
- A caffeine deprivation headache, with the promise of more to come.
On the plus side:
- No serious heart problem.
- The anti-palpitation medicine, a beta blocker (*), was wicked cheap.
- Issue 1 of Marvel's "1602" is pretty cool.
This weekend: J.'s sister's wedding.
(*) I'm now taking a "proton-pump inhibitor" and a "beta blocker." Soon, as J. points out, I will be nigh invulnerable.
