Or would that be run _fur_ the hills? =;P What's even scarier is that it also links to the LJ group...Tang and Sarcy are going to have a ball with this one.
Although, not to be a lamer or anything, but furries aren't much different than gays. (or more accurately, different than extremere s/m). To some people, two guys going at it is as weird as a guy and girt dressed as mice doing it.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, Chris. I do not have bias or discriminate against anyone based on creed, color, or sexual orientation.
However, there exists a vast number of sexual deviants out there. Need I list them? I'm not counting homosexuality in there because, frankly, it's the 21st century, and anyone with intelligence knows that homosexuality exists in both the animal kingdom as well as our own recent and distant history.
I'm talking about fursuits, snuff, bestiality, fecal/watersports... I've even read somewhere (this is offensive, yes) that there is an eroticism that involves women stripping while their hard-clad feet crush the life out of baby animals. Kittens, puppies, the like.
The more extreme stuff needs to stop. These people need to get whatever emotional or psychological deficiency they have, fixed.
And that is my opinion. I hope you can take it and argue it constructively and intellectually.
I saw a picture, once, of a woman in high heels crushing a newborn kitten or puppy ( I couldn't be sure, and I wasn't inclined to look very long). I was disgusted and wanted to find these people and do to them what they had done. There are simply too many lifestyles out there that are simply dangerous to others or the world around them.
We tease and joke about furries, but, in the end, it's good humored and (at least for most) not at all serious. Just as "Normals" joke and make fun of us gaming geeks, LARPers, goths, etc., etc., etc.
Just because it's someone's lifestyle doesn't necessarily make it valid. Once it violates someone or something's freedoms or comfort zones, the lifestyle, in my opinion, becomes invalid.
"An' it harm none, do as thou wilt." That includes puppies, kittens, plants, and whatever else you can think of....
Furries are not bad, nor wrong. I simply do not find a fur suit or dressing as an animal sexually attractive in the slightest. But if I ever get my hands on the people who crush the newborn animals....
I guess what I found noteworthy about the discussion I linked to was the implication that the actual person under the fur suit might not matter. May as well get a mannequin to put the giant anime pirate weasel outfit on.
Which indeed might be true for many types of costumed fetish play, not to single out the (erotic) furries.
Also noteworthy from a different angle were the number of people involved in the furry discussion group who also thought that might be taking it a bit too far.
Run for the hills!!!
