Guess people liked that post from the other day. Glad to hear it, although I'm not sure I needed the positive reinforcement for procrastination. A couple years ago, when I posted an abstract for a conference paper, I didn't get near so many positive replies. I didn't really get any negative ones, either, mind you...

But still. Food for thought.

At some point I shall have to update it using the feedback concerning the "Turbo 'Vette" conundrum, as well as the crux around "rumpled smooth skin"; although I am tempted to keep that reading according to the principle of lectio difficilior, it is true that "rump of smooth skin" (or, as some scholars have suggested, "rub that smooth skin") makes for a more logical expression.

Anyway:
1. Homer-like, I have been continued. This means the last traces of guilt I wasn't really feeling about not having done the whole thing have now been entirely swept away. "A weight has left me," as I vaguely remember, from an anthropology class I took once, some or more than some Greek Orthodox say or used to say after Confession. Only they say it in Greek: ena varos m'efige. Which flows nicely into point two:

2. Early calls for a Greek translation have been answered; I don't have the Greek character set the translator used, and so can't read it myself, but perhaps you can.

Update 10/16/03: Fixed the link to Ukelele's translation.
