Managed to snag a bit of online-ness after all.
Culinary highlights:
- They did the turkey on the grill, making it far less insipid than usual. (Turkey is boring.)
- Apple, blueberry, cherry, mincemeat, pecan, pumpkin, and rhubarb pies.
Unfortunate thing:
- Extensive plaster dust in the air from the renovated room upstairs.
Also, I fear that at some point I will be called upon to help stack two cords of wood.
Tonight I make my annual "Yankee Harvest Moussaka" from leftovers (squash instead of eggplant, finely chopped turkey instead of lamb or beef, cornbread crumbs on top of the bechamel). I stay out of the small kitchen during Thanksgiving day itself, and then make my contribution in saner times.
