It's no good having a cold when you can't take anything with pseudephedrine. I must persevere with cough drops and tea.

That's all, really. It's my last day at my mom's place. Now I'm off to make baklava.

If you have a dry uncomfortable cough, a few spoonfuls of hyssop infusion throughout the day does wonders to loosen the pressure in the chest. One spoonful of dry hyssop in a cup of boiling water makes enough to last all day, and you can usually buy it bulk at a health food store if you haven't any in your garden. Anise hyssop doesn't seem to work, unfortunately, and real hyssop tastes like skunk, so you do have to add lots of honey and lemon to make it palatable.

You might try putting your head over a pot of hot water with strong peppermint or eucalyptus tea infused in it. Toss a towel over your head to hold in the steam and let it do its work.

When you're clear, you might want to try a Neti Pot. It's weird to get used to, but I use one, and it does improve things.

I know what you mean :) I hate ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and all relatives of it, and virtually all cold medicine has it in it. Are you allergic?
