Over the past week I have:

- hosted my brother and his pal, visiting from Ohio
- prepared for a Changeling LARP
- gone to a cookout thrown by J.'s boss (where her lesbian coworker apparently decided I was "cute, for a boy," and where I suffered some ungodly number of mosquito bites)
- run said Changeling LARP, with reasonable success, despite some temporary despair about halfway through
- visited Gloucester and Hammond castle with the guests, who may or may not have enjoyed the trip
- worked my part-time hours for this week in a lump, to be completed today, to finish some things up before my boss leaves tonight for another couple of weeks in Germany
- done some housecleaning
- gone to the Y for the first time in a week, last night
- read an astounding fantasy-land reconstruction of what some writer in the 1960s thought must have been the "real" events behind Tacitus' description of Nero's murder of his mother, a tale no less improbable than what it purported to explain
- remembered to be clever a couple of times when it counted.

I also, on Friday, had an odd encounter in the Central Square T station (outbound platform). I had been doing some last-minute preparation for the next day's game and so had a couple of geek books and paper and a pencil out, while also trying to carry a full cup of coffee, and had apparently spilled some of the beverage on my way to the bench. A man walked up to me, pointed to the liquid on the floor a few feet away, and said incredulously, "Did you just pee in here?"

Equally incredulous, I replied that I had probably spilled some coffee.

The man shook his head in disbelief and disgust. "You can't do that in here," he said, and produced a dirty napkin with which to mop up the spill.

(He then walked away to talk to police about his friend who was passed out on the platform.)
