A real post
Jan. 22nd, 2003 12:19 pmSpent much of yesterday shopping for fabric with which to cover the poor couch and the new chair -- facing a mind-numbing array of fabrics that were, more or less, exactly wrong.
Finally we picked out something purple in Exeter, NH, that somehow fell short of clashing hideously with our unchangeably painted Martha-Stewart-Green floor (if our landlords have a fault, it's their mania for floors so painted) and might even not fail to complement the black and red puppet theatre that dominates one wall.
Now we just have to wait for the order to come in -- they didn't have enough of the fabric in stock, of course -- and then J. and her mom will cut and sew slip covers.
In the evening, we went to the Y, made stir-fry, and watched "Buffy," which ended with the first effective long-ish speech that show has had in a while.
