From an article I am editing on sculpture and dance, here is what happened when a certain Isadora D. met one Auguste R.:

"He gazed at me with lowered lids, his eyes blazing, and then, with the same expression that he had before his works, he came toward me. He ran his hands over my neck, breast, stroked my arms and ran his hands over my hips, my bare legs and feet. He began to knead my whole body as if it were clay, while from him emanated heat that scorched and melted me."

In other news, a Reuters headline today reads "Singapore Policeman Gets Two Years for Oral Sex." I can't imagine you'd need so much time, even if you also had to factor in being poor and ugly and needing to find a partner.

Update: Here's another good line, taken out of context for maximum effect: "becoming moist in imitation of the sea."

MBTA karma

I am such a dork that the wretchedness of the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority makes me think of World-of-Darkness roleplaying games. It often seems to me that my bad luck with trains and buses should be worth a few 'Flaw' points that I could spend on more Intelligence or extra Mafia contacts or a retinue of jealously worshipful blood-slaves.

Consider, if you will, last night. )

This sort of thing happens to me all the time. But possibly it happens to everyone all the time, and I merit no special consideration. Good thing the MBTA is going to raise fares -- I'm sure that with the extra money they'll be able to improve service.
