This is how I usually work

I just spent a half hour trying to find a "shortcut" around something that probably would have taken me only a few minutes to do it the usual way, and then wasted another ten minutes being angry that it didn't work, and a couple minutes to log in and tell you all about it. And I didn't do the thing itself, and now I have no time to do it at all until Wednesday.

Hmm. I just thought of at least one other thing I did (or didn't do) today that could be described in almost the same words.
