"He will not, from mere whim or carelessness, depart from the basic rules of grammar and syntax established by the practice of his predecessors over two hundred years and more."
-- F.R.D. Goodyear, The Annals of Tacitus, vol. 1 (Cambridge 1972).

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions

Seems it should have a number 5, "Or terrible harm will befall you!" -- but, fortunately, it does not.

When I opened my book to page 23, sentence 5 it just said "seven days."

Then the book closed, all on it's own.

I'm afraid.

Okay, that's kind of alarming.

Start hoarding food, everyone!

The nearest book to where I sit is the phone book. I didn't even try that. The second nearest is my copy of the National Speedway Directory. On page 23 is a SealMaster ad. Sentence five (counting logos as a sentence) says:

  • Fuel Resistant Coatings For Pit Areas

I'm not going to post that. Nice meme, though.

OK, I'll do your meme, but I'm too lazy to cite the source book correctly.
