Well, some things worked out reasonably well yesterday; Swiss Air came through with a cheap feline-enabled flight. They even let me have the 400-dollars-cheaper Expedia fare.

Of course, my mind is full of zillions of things that can still go wrong there, and that's even before we get to "the plane could end up in Davy Jones' locker."

But now I actually have a plane ticket to go to France. October 7. It's, like, real.

That's terribly frightening.

Finally, and unrelatedly: The "view from the window" is an electronic journal/photoblog classic. Below, what I can see when I turn my head to the left here at work!

This is where, if I were wittier, I would come up with alternate lyrics for "Daydream Believer."

Which you've now put in my head. Damn you!

Actually, my nightmares featured not being able to find my plane tickets, and then not being able to find my glasses, and then finding my glasses but they were broken, and people were impatiently waiting for me and didn't care that my glasses wre broken and my ticket was missing, the insensitive bastards.

I did not wake up refreshed.

I sense a metaphor lurking. Kind of like the world's largest mosquito. Hmm.

Salve, Magister Ludi...

Hi there - I tried emailing you a couple of days ago but I think I might have looked like spam...

My hombre and I would like to attend your LARP this Saturday. Xanyboi made it sound so fun, and he can vouch for our gaming creds. Please let me know if we may attend and, if so, where/when. Thanks!

Certainly! I've just sent you an e-mail to the address on your info page.

Glancing at your journal, I have a sense that we've met; were you by any chance the Death Coach?

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, never mind.

Or, in modern Greek, as used in a skit a friend of mine did for a talent show at our school in Athens, "Eho mia mpanana stin afti mou."

It wasn't a very subtle nightmare.

I was wearing silver shoulder pads and had a raygun.

Well, good! Xany certainly doesn't need to vouch for your RPG cred, then, since I know it myself from experience.

How long are you and J going to be in France? Can S and I come visit??? I don't know anyone who still lives in France - they've all moved out of the country.

We'll be there from Sept/Oct. of this year through about August of next, so more or less a year.

And sure -- you'd be welcome! We'll likely be in the boondocks of Normandy, though.
