With a vasty host of people (cosmicserpent, ms_ntropy, ta_chuang, uruz, eye_abstains, as well as people with more reasonable names like Dot and Alan and Catherine and Joe) J. and I went to see "Henry V" at the Boston Common last night. In many respects I agree with the review I've just linked to: King Harry really only had one emotional mode, except for the woo-the-princess scene at the end. Overall, it was a mediocre performance I might have liked more had I never seen Branagh's version. But it was good to see everyone.

Today, while digesting the fresh-ricotta-and-raspberry-filled crêpes we had for brunch, I must try to get some serious academic work done before my social evening begins...

Yeah, I'd like to see Henry V in theory, but the Branagh version will ruin lesser productions for me, I think .. also, I don't like that guy who's starring in this version.

Was that your girlfriend with you? She reminds me of Carrie Anne Moss. Va-voom. :)

He wasn't BAD -- it's just that he wasn't GOOD.

Oh, yeah -- sorry I didn't introduce you. I thought for some reason that you might have met at A Very Second Circle Christmas, but she also informs me that, no, I am on crack.
