It's like they took my ballot and decided to go with the opposite, at least on the things I was most concerned about: the governor, bilingual education, and clean elections.

Good "Buffy" last night, at least, especially the second half.
Not sure what is most useful to do today. Advisor still has my prospectus draft; I *could* try to whittle down the wordy sections but I'd prefer to wait until I get his input. There's stuff I could be reading, I guess.
J. is home with a bad cold today and is a TV zombie at the moment, so the trick for me will be to avoid being sucked into mindless daytime television.
I'm wicked bummed I forgot about yesterday's Rasputina show until it was too late to make the necessary arrangements. (Also feeling impoverished.)
Celtic band name of the day, from a Celtic Beat update message:
Scantily Plaid
Ridiculous sentiment-from-a-weight-loss-commercial of the day:

Spam subject heading of the day (spelling mistake theirs):
Unstopable sluts on A MISSION FOR CUM
Incidentally, yesterday I got a 419 scam e-mail in French, so that's something exciting and different.
Update a few minutes later: I forgot to mention that last night we were watching the news (on WB, I think, after seeing "Smallville" for the first time) and after a quick interview with Independent Party gubernatorial candidate Barbara Johnson there was loud guffawing heard off-camera in the newsroom.
