Happy Belated to escarey
Dec. 2nd, 2002 01:46 pmSo there was Thanksgiving. Much loitering in NH in an uncharacteristically loitersome environment -- J.'s family usually embodies the ancient Greek concept of POLUPRAGMOSUNE.
(That means, basically, "doing a lot.")
I played a lot of "Otto Matic" and wrote some Christmas cards to friends from college I never talk to as much as I should. Normally I wait until January or so and send cards only to the people who have sent me some, so the recipients may be shocked.
The drawback to the weekend: rental of "Annie" + small child who wanted to see it again and again, creating a musical environment from which there was no real escape. I noted that "It's a Hard Knock Life" now instantly reminds me of that one scene in "Goldmember." Huh.
One of the best parts about the weekend only sounds like an old Broadway favorite: "Ten Pies for Seven People."
So, uh, YMCA tonight.

Update moments later: Greek typo fixed.
Update the following morning: Not sure why I had this "friends only," so I've now made it public. Rejoice, therefore, you outcast stalkers.

Date: 2002-12-02 11:21 am (UTC)I should take this opportunity to mention that I am using that word without any of its ancient geopolitical connotations, not wanting to suggest that J.'s family is meddling in the affairs of neighboring city-states in order to build up hegemony.
