It's snot-freezingly cold.
Dec. 9th, 2002 11:56 amThis morning, I chose a more leisurely breakfast and thus riding the bus at 8:40 to taking toast with me and catching the train at 8:27. At 8:55 I decided to forget the bus and take the 9:15ish train, stopping in at the Red Lion (a tobacconist/magazine/game-and-hobby store) to warm up for a few minutes -- it's about ten degrees out -- and getting to the station at about 9:10.
At 9:45, the 8:27 train arrived at Salem Depot. So it was a good thing I
hadn't tried to get it in the first place.
electriccat was waiting there too with the same small comfort, except without having had coffee yet.
Oh, incidentally, that bus passed me on my way to the Depot about two minutes after I left the bus stop, so the whole half hour plus that I spent waiting in the cold was spent contemplating what might have been.
