quislibetHuh. It's a big week for birthdays, it seems, at least according to my livejournal portal page. Neat. Happy belated and/or impending birthday to y'all.
So I learned this weekend that when I attempt to ski the only way I can stop is by falling down. That, combined with an acrophobia that means I will never be particularly comfortable on chair lifts, probably indicates that it is not the sport for me. But I'll likely give it another go, some day.
Just not any time soon.
Spiffy condo, though, especially free of charge.
When the ski trip was over, we went to J.'s parents' house and celebrated the nearby birthdays of her father and her niece. The latter, now 2, really liked the royal blue t-shirt I got her with bats on it, exclaiming, "Oh, my goodness!" when she opened it, and then hugging it to her. I think she liked the Radio Flyer wheelbarrow J. got her, too, although that was harder to hug, perhaps.
It's nice outside, and I'm feeling nostalgic for spring days spent walking around cool places, and I'd like to go walk around a cool (by which I mean, e.g., neat, spiffy, wicked, rad, or tubular) place right now, except that (a) I have to be at work and (b) my legs hurt.
Finally, the world seems to be going to hell. My only consolation is the fact that people have felt the world has been going to hell ever since there have been people, a world, and the concept of hell (or its equivalent). Millennia-old pessimism suggests the future is looking bright.
