How extraordinary -- one "Shawna Hotbutt" invites me to take a look at her dirty pictures. With a name like that I bet she got teased in school.

You know, having lived with female roommates for 10 years now, I'm cool with the whole "put the toilet seat down" thing; it has become automatic for me. But after even longer exposure to public men's rooms, I am led to contemplate how much more upsetting are those lads who do not put the damn things UP when the situation calls for it.

In other news, (1) a key aspect of my health insurance is behaving in an unexpected and unwelcome fashion and (2) risotto is never as good on the second day.

Only three forced restarts on the computer today! Woo hoo!

some of the spam lately has been causing my mac to crash.

interestingly, though, as i'm a target for spam originating in china & other far east lands, much of it comes in as gibberish. however, now the gibberish includes SARS. so either the chinese spammers are utilizing their far reaching audience to help out those at risk, or, well, there's some sort of bonus to "dating" chicks with sars. it's impossible to tell as i can neither read chinese nor do i have the appropriate font to see what the characters are to begin with!

this is probably a little too tricky to do on an office microwave, but if you have access to a stove -- take your leftover risotto and split it up it into small patties. Then put a little olive oil in a saucepan on medium heat and fry the patties in little risotto cakes.

Otherwise, you could pour a little broth in the container before you pop it in the microwave, and try to reheat it without letting the microwave's moisture sucking tendencies change the consistency too much.

I just wrote that last bit as an excuse to use the phrase "moisture sucking"

heh - "Let's form it into patties and fry it" has become something of a (low-key) joke between J. and me, as it's invariably my suggestion for leftovers.

But alas, only a microwave here at work. Next time I'll try adding broth.

mmm ... curry pancakes ... carrot-ginger soup latkes ... the wonders of binding foods with a little bit of beaten egg and some butter.

wish I could give you a good measure for broth adding, but I find it only works 50% of the time for me. Just err on the side of "not enough and still a little too chewy" rather than "hey, I guess I'm having rice soup."

Thanks to my completely forgetting last night to break off the lower ends of the asparagus stalks before cutting them up, there were at least some bites that were fibrous and woody, adding complexity.

There are actually 3 positions for the toilet seat. Boy, girl and cat where the last is what I return the seat to (cover down). I piss off every one that way since the cats can't get that oh so fresh'n'tasty water and everyone has to lift some lid or other...

My newest type of spam has picked up recently. Spammers are hitting my guest books on my web page. Today was the first porn ones - a double whammy of incest spams. Eventually I'll log into my Dreambook, delete the posts, and ban their IPs for all eternity... some how that level of wrath isn't all that satisfying in reality.

Using guest books for spam, I mean, although the toilet could be as well, I suppose.

I get mostly incest spams. One today addressed me as "Malthus," which is not a handle I have ever used. How odd.

The same loser put the same spam over a two days a total of 4 times. Now his IP address is banned as well as the other two spammers from earlier in the week.

I get a lot of spam directed to Snake since I'm on some spam list that has Snake-at-ennui.net along with other ennui denizens like myself. The 'snake' as the first word in my subject header (usually followed by the word 'Xanax') is my first clue to hit delete. Sometimes the first word is 'thanatos' which is another ennui user. So there must be two harvests of spam lists using a similar approach of ennui bashing.

I really don't get incest spam that often. Usually it's making her scream for more, increasing my unit size, xanax/viagra, and lately 'earn money while working in your underwear at home'. I thought the last one was about being a cam-boy, but its just some cheesy work at home scheme.

Every now and then my B.U. account gets a run of up to a dozen or more copies of the same spam message in a day or two. I hate that.

Today's inbox craftiness was "WAR is your money invested?"

Having seen my grandfather's crossbow, you can seriously build muscle trying to cock the string on that thing. The thing scared me with its power (yes, its powerful cock -- just to relate this back to spam).
