unsafe spurious path elements
Jun. 16th, 2003 09:49 amMy new favorite websurfing error message -- this is a new one on me -- is that the URL contains "unsafe spurious path elements."
J. e-mailed me from an internet cafe this morning; her first planned meeting fell through and so she's stuck with a free day in Paris. Yeah, sounds bad, I know. Actually, she's somewhat vexed, because she would like to start accomplishing things.
I got up this morning (expecting my brother and friend to arrive at any point after about 7) and watered the garden, set up a "smokers' patio" outside, and inflated an air mattress (eventually, when I realized I had the pump set up wrong), all before coffee. I decided to leave for work without waiting for them when they called me at 9:30 from Connecticut.
They have now called me here at work from my apartment. It sounds like the Yahoo directions they were following for the drive up from Ohio contained unsafe spurious path elements as well, but at least they made it in one piece. Of course they've been chain-smoking the whole time and are too jittery to sleep, so they're going to do the sensible thing and walk over to Harrison's Comics.
Strange dream last night; I was my Science Hero! mage character, interacting with a non-player character from the Arcanum game, who tried to eat my soul. I took out my trusty laser, but before things turned violent it resolved itself into a LARP, so the worst I had to fear was losing rock-paper-scissors.
