No navel is too small for the academic gaze.

I'm going to wet myself.

Laughing myself out of my chair, here. Ahhhhh, good times, good times.

Bizarrely, I could basically WRITE a piece about fan fiction. Not HP, but maybe LOTR, having laughed at, er, I mean, PERUSED quite a few fan fic sites.

The other day, one of the people on my friends list went looking for slash fiction pairing Marlin and Dory, from "Finding Nemo". I myself draw the line at reading about the fictionalized erotic liasons of cartoon fish.

No, no. You haven't been properly mentally violated until you read Nemo and... uh, shit. Willem DaFoe's fish. Yeah, Nemo and Willem DaFoe Fish slash. oh my god.

Please don't ask why I read it. ...I mean! It was like a trainwreck! I didn't want to read it! But I couldn't help myself!!!

Oh
My
GOD.

Okay, I am officially traumatized. I am now pale and shaking, under my desk. That's, like, PEDOPHILIA! Poor little Nemo...oh lordy...

You know, I thought I had reached an all-time low in my life when I spent an entire night reading Hobbit Porn. Thanks to Nemo and (Scar? Slash? Fin? Spear? Willem DaFoe.), I know now that I have a lonnnnnng way to go.

Speaking of meta-fanfic, I have discovered that here on livejournal there is fanfic fanfic, to wit:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/roy_inclingfilm/

... which writes stories about Roy Orbison and cling film (or plastic wrap, if you prefer), patterned after similar stories by the master (http://www.michaelkelly.fsnet.co.uk/karl.htm) of same.

I meant just to link to the original site as an example of "Most Preciously Germanic Fanfic Ever," but google led me back to our own virtual back yard.
