An e-mail message from someone I do not know bids me Avoid Penis Growers.

I shall make a note of that.

In fact, it seems that I have just done so.

I have spent the last couple of hours watching cartoons and working on Fearsome Challenges for Sunday's old-school AD&D game. Fearsome, I say! Not even the mightiest Vampire CCG player in all of Christendom will be able to stand against them!

(But fortunately for him, I expect all of the other PCs will kick sufficient bad guy ass before his mage/thief is seriously threatened anyway.)

In other news, tonight I finally actually listened to "Baby Got Back." I went to Sir Mix-a-Lot's website so I could post a link to definitive lyrics in order to try my best to obviate future comments about that "rub her smooth skin" line -- but without finding what I wanted. At any rate, I somehow had never heard the song before. It didn't even sound familiar. I guess in 1992 WCWS (90.9 on your FM dial) was too busy playing U2's "Mysterious Ways" in an endless loop.

Here it is getting late and I still haven't sent the e-mail that was my reason for logging in before going to bed. Isn't that always the way?

(I first got wind of this on some left-leaning blog or other; they're all syndicated to my Friends page and I can hardly keep them apart.)

Presidential candidate and bachelor Dennis Kucinich has agreed to a dinner date with the future winner of an online "Who Wants to Be a First Lady?" contest. (Single liberal women: Enter now!)

This, as well as the power of reality television and the conflation of celebrity with political competence as seen in the California recall, suggests a campaign strategy based on a Gershwin musical. (Not "An American in Paris.")

With the title song of that show already being sung by the current First Lady in a tourism commercial, along with Roberta Flack and various Washington luminaries, this may well be an idea whose time has come.
