Hey; while you're here, I have a gaming Latin question for you. Is it supposed to be "Invicti" and "Lancea Sancta", or is it possible to interpret "Invictus" and "Lancea Sanctum" as strange ablative declensions that actually do mean something meaningful?

I am afraid that "Lancea Sanctum" cannot be redeemed, except as perhaps "the holy thing with the lance." (And I remember Achilli or someone of that sort claiming it was going to be fixed for final publication, the lying bastard.) But it looks like I'm going to grit my teeth and play one of these guys.

As for "Invictus," we can pretend that it's an adjective modifying some masculine noun that refers to the entire covenant (without being "covenant" itself, testamentum, a neuter noun). But that would only work if members claimed that they belonged "to the Invictus," or the like. Once they start talking about "we Invictus" it becomes sad.

Ah -- thanks muchly. I remember you posted about this before, and mentioned the (now broken) promise that the blasphemy of "Lancea Sanctum" would be corrected in the final edition.

Oh well. Everybody used to mispronounce "Camarilla" anyway. :P
