J. and I also saw Episode 2 Saturday night over at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, once again thanks to the magic of discounted movie tickets through J.'s work.

My main complaint is that the movie needed some serious script work,
especially in pacing - a lot of the movie seemed really slow or else
suddenly frantic and hard to figure out who was doing what and why. (I get enough of that mix in real life.) Sure, it's a kid's movie, and I don't dispute that, but what kid wants to sit through over-long melodramatic heart-to-hearts? I also think that "kid's movie" does not necessarily have to equal "not entirely satisfying for adults."

But then some people in my age-peer group really liked it, and so good for them.

I also hated "The Matrix," but on the other hand really liked "The Avengers." So make of that what you will.

J., who didn't see the original trilogy until college and thus didn't grow up thinking Star Wars was the coolest thing evah, was even less impressed.

But I enjoyed it well enough, I suppose, and will see the third one blindly hoping that it's better. I just won't be going out of my way to see this one a second time.

In other news, absolutely no one took me up on my whimsical last-minute "come hang out in Salem" invitation, so I had to do some studying instead. You bastards.

(Why didn't Yoda either whisk Obi Wan and Annakin out from under the heavy pillar -- surely easier -- or else, having control of the pillar, throw it at Dooku's ship??)
