Jun. 27th, 2002 09:10 amIt's hot.
I realized today that my best pal from high school and college is going to be celebrating his 10-year wedding anniversary in about a week. I suppose I should write him, as I also need to congratulate him and the Mrs. on the recent arrival of their second child.
Sometimes it's odd to think that people my age have been married for ten years and have children. (For some reason that seems weirder to me than the fact that my younger sister has three kids, one of which is well advanced along the elementary school _cursus honorum_.)
Then I realize, no, it's just that you're old and have largely resisted growing up much.
Which makes academia perfect for me, I suppose. Now if I could only make myself be academic.
***
I have to get on my bicycle in a little whle and take a blender to Mr. Fix-It, or some such name, on 114 in either Salem or Peabody, depending on where the line falls, for the blender is leaky, which is unfortunate, as it is prime blender-using weather. I shall wave to
mvoid and
electriccat, though they will probably not be home.
(Good luck to the latter re: not having to be home on weekdays in the future.)
