Oct. 22nd, 2002 02:24 pmI forgot to mention that on Saturday, as we waited at a corner on Madison Ave. for a "walk" sign, we saw a man ride by on a bicycle with a cat on his back. The lower half of the cat was in some sort of backpack, and the upper half rested comfortably on the cyclist's shoulder, calmly surveying the changing landscape.
(I hasten to add that, so far as I could see, the two cat-halves were connected in the usual way, but you know how it is with saying anything certain about cats in containers.)
Oh, and when we returned home yesterday, we discovered our landlords had left us a box of homemade cloth bats they had found hiding among holiday decorations in their attic. Tonight or thereabouts we will display them in a front-porchal environment.
