(no subject)
Oct. 25th, 2002 11:02 amWhat I have to do today at work:
- Write some form letters.
- Finish copy-editing an article with troublesome bibliographical irregularities that need to be stamped out.
- File, possibly.
What I would prefer to do today:
Read through the exhibition catalogue for an exhibit entitled "Antico-mix": Antike in Comics (Antiquity in comics), which from 1999 to 2001 appeared in museums at Tuebingen, Basel, and Stendal. The boss would like me to point out an article on "Asterix und die Antike" (Asterix and Antiquity) to one of our correspondents. I will do this, but then I would like to page through the catalog, looking at the copious illustrations taken from comics ranging from "Asterix" to "The Sandman" to Frank Miller's "300" to titles not generally known to an English-speaking public, and perhaps even trying to read some of the German text about them. There's even an article on Graeco-Roman porn-themed comics with the subtitle "Über den masturbatorischen Imperativ oder soll es mehr sein als Erregung?"
Oh well. Another day, perhaps.
There should be a band called "Der masturbatorische Imperativ."

Date: 2002-10-25 10:22 am (UTC)Bah, I'd try to voice a witty retort, but I'm too tense, so I'll remain passive.
