I spent too much of my time last night on this, god knows why.
Home today rather than at work as I had planned; I missed the later of the two trains I take and realized I wouldn't be in much before 11, and, with having to leave early to return to Salem for an evening at the Athenaeum, it didn't seem worth it, and the boss agreed when contacted telephonically.
As I work part-time, I can get away with stuff like that if there's no pressing work at the office. It might, however, have been useful to have received the boss/advisor's comments on my latest prospectus draft before another day at home, but so be it.
(Monday he actually advised me to see what I could accomplish by reduced font size and line spacing before trying to cut any more text!)
I spent part of the morning reading "The Return of the King" again for the first time in years, and I have to say that one criticism of Tolkien pointed out to me once by the Quivering Messiah is just: the Professor really did pull out the "oh, we're all doomed -- but wait! help is arriving at the last possible moment!" scenario rather often.
In other news, I am still vexed that my Christmas-gift copy of Warcraft III is in fact an empty box, but I suppose it's better this way. It is unlikely to be a cruel trick of the giver, so something must have gone awry in the Electronics Boutique at the River Valley Mall in Lancaster, Ohio.
