- To my annoyance, I utterly forgot to watch or record the Boudica movie on Masterpiece Theatre, looking again closely at the Post-It note on the television that was meant to remind me it was going to be on only after it had aired. Despite widespread critical disdain, I am still morbidly curious; I don't suppose anyone in a vaguely Boston-ish area taped it?
- Yesterday was irritating: I hate wearing Holter monitors. Also: One gets oversensitive to random twinges and pains when one has to record them in a little diary. (Fear not, dear readers: I am likely as fit as Tony Blair, probably with an adjustment in my favor for age, if less dedicated to my work.)
- I must remember to cancel my emusic.com membership. Not only are they changing the terms of service at the end of the month to restrict MP3 downloading considerably, but I have found the site less responsive lately and downloads more likely to result in "error" messages. Plus, that Die Laughing track I just listened to was all whacked, not something I mind so much at the moment, but when each track begins to count against a monthly maximum, such things will be rather vexing.
- At the Salem Public Library I found among "new nonfiction" a very recent biography of Nero I had not heard anything about. Huh.
- I discovered the other day that "quislibet" is perfectly good medieval Latin, so that's somewhat less embarrassing. Still, be careful when choosing a username, ladies and gentlemen, especially if it's in a foreign language and you suspect that ridiculous numbers of people will one day be reading your journal because you've done something allegedly clever in that language.
- An update to the "baseball, motherhood, and apple pie" entry: It turned out that J.'s mom learned at a crucial and belated moment that she had no flour, so not only did the Sox lose, but there was, in the end, no pie.
