spam headlines
I just deleted unread something like 130 messages from a web-based
account I don't use much. Here are some of the more interesting or
puzzling subject headers:
"Introducing the NEW Phaser 8200."
Sweet! I've always wanted a phaser.
Here's a category of which I had previously been ignorant:
"NEW INTERRACIAL VIOLENCE !!!"
This sort of clears up a question I'd had, although the acronym doesn't
seem quite to work, and I hate that apostrophe-plural thing:
"M.I.L.F = Mom's I Want To F-ck"
The world of porn is so twisted that even language breaks down:
"Yes, yes, yes! I was found it! Just see...."
"where the toilet?"
"tissues and flog!"
Financial spam is often puzzling:
"Quick Cash - Card Enclosed!"
"$250,000... as low as $6.50 per month. ..."

One porn spam was entitled "Winter in July," which I noted just as I was listening to "I'll fall with your knife."

Incidentally, notification of your post arrived in my inbox directly following a message entitled, "Hot MILFs on the trot." (I've heard of "hot TO trot," but never "...ON THE trot." All sorts of new and exciting directions for the English language here.)
